Side Table Redo

I’m always up for an inexpensive furniture project, and today’s post is about just that. While out doing my weekly thrift store run I noticed these two end tables priced at $2 each.

Did I need them, no.   But my brain couldn’t stop thinking about the endless possibilities (it’s funny how often that happens). So, into my car they went.

I’d been noticing a lot of two toned furniture on Pinterest and decided that I wanted to try it out by making the tops darker than the legs. After giving the tables a much needed clean, I removed the legs and applied my all time favorite product, gel stain, in dark walnut.

While the legs dried, I painted multiple coats of black interior paint to the tops using a normal paint brush. It turns out that old tires can come in handy for DIY projects.

After a few touch ups and a little bit of dry time the tables were complete. Below is the final product.

If you’re looking for a simple, inexpensive way to makeover a few end tables I would definitely recommend this process.  I hope ya’ll are having a wonderful weekend, and thanks for reading.
