This year I made a list of New Years Resolutions (read about that here), with #5 being “go to Chicago”. Okay, so maybe it’s not as much a “resolution” as it is a “bucket list item” but nonetheless I’ve been wanting to visit Chicago for some time now. As you may know, we recently celebrated our one year anniversary, and what better way to do it than a trip to the Windy City.
The architecture in Chicago is stunning. I couldn’t get enough of the amazing skyline which is gorgeous both during the day and at night.
Of course we had to visit Cloud Gate, or “The Bean” as referred to by many.
I must admit, I liked this view as well. :)
We also had our share of amazing food. We hit up restaurants including “The Purple Pig” and “Wildberry Cafe”. Of course a trip to Chicago is not complete without deep dish pizza from “Gino’s”.
See I told you, breathtaking.
All in all we had a wonderful time taking in the city. We shopped until we dropped, experienced a Broadway and comedy show, checked out the Art Museum, and started to feel like Chicagoans. However, when it was time to leave I must admit that I was ready to return to a quieter way of life.
Until next time, Chicago.
